With its quirky towers and corners,
dark dungeon and Great Hall, surrounded by sweeping
lawns and lush meadowland, Berkeley Castle has proved
to be an unique backdrop for all kinds of events.
Home to the big annual favourites,
like Joust, the Sealed Knot and the Berkeley Show,
it has a thriving year-on-year events diary to rival
any other public attraction.
Outdoor theatre productions, battle re-enactments
and encampments, costume exhibitions, art classes and
caravan rallies all benefit from a truly atmospheric
setting. Famously, the Great Hall was the Orchestra of
the Age of Enlightenment’s chosen venue for the
first ever performance of Vivaldi’s lost arias
in 2004!
If your event requires an outdoor venue
with a stunning backdrop or an indoor venue oozing history
then Berkeley is the place. The Castle and Meadow can
be used together or independently. Both
have ample parking, excellent secure facilities and
are ideally situated just ten minutes from the M5 and
close to major rail networks.
