A Film Maker’s
Dream
The Berkeley and Spetchley Estates are a film
maker’s dream, offering a huge diversity
of authentic locations for television drama, documentaries
and feature films. They are blessed with an enormous
range of settings and moods from Medieval to modern
and everything in between!
They have been the setting for the
BBC’s
drama ‘The Other Boleyn Girl’ produced
by the BAFTA-winning Ruth Caleb, ITV’s ‘Dead
Famous’ and its family history series ‘Historyonics’,
HTV’s historic cookery series, National Geographic's film on King Arthur and the BBC’s
daytime ‘Bargain Hunt’.
The Berkeley family occupies both Berkeley Castle
and Spetchley Park and Gardens which are just 50
miles apart. The Estate team are renowned for
its flexible, film-friendly approach to ‘resident’ crews!

"Fantastically
accessible yet so quiet and unspoilt
and the family
were very accommodating. Everything ran
smoothly, and the design team made
nine sets out of just four wonderful
rooms! Berkeley Castle is truly a hidden
gem and a dream location."
Micas Koc - Associate Producer
The Other Boleyn Girl (BBC)
